Wisdom From Within

JOHN CHANG - DAOIST WIZARD

7/3/2015

Picture
For those that have practised recapitulation, the benefits are enormous. It is a pragmatic short cut to understanding our lives and excelling at them.

In my recapitulation I noticed possibilities that I was unaware of when I experienced the original incident. What became obvious to me was that life was making opportunities available that I was refusing by being distracted.
I had met men that had become friends but never realised that they potentially knew wonders that I was unaware of and missed my opportunity. I determined as my energy was freed up to apply it to taking advantage of what was being offered me as it happened.

It is too easy to be wise in retrospect. All of us have replayed incidents in our lives and said "I wish I had been able to say what I truly thought and felt." Recapitulation makes it possible to act as we wish in the moment, because we become aware of our unconscious propensities. How many opportunities are we unaware of and fail to take advantage of?
I was very fortunate to meet an actual Daoist wizard, he is known as John Chang. I know that without recapitulation I would have never found him.
A friend had facilitated my journey to Mt Kailash in Tibet. He had travelled there and had collected many books and much equipment to help in this incredible journey.
Our journey had been the magical trip of a lifetime, enhanced by his help.

I had just booked a trip to Australia coming back through Bali. I decided to meet my friend, return his equipment and thank him before leaving.

We had a great meeting. As we hugged and parted. I felt something I would have missed previous to my recapitulation. He walked off down the road after saying his goodbyes. I was torn, he had been so generous with his equipment and time, yet I felt it was important to spend further time with him.
A powerful shudder had gone through me. I called out to him "Patrick, do you need to go this moment. I'd really like you to help me find a book to read on my long plane journey."

He answered "OK I can spare another hour or so."

We perused the book shops around the west end but failed to find anything. We walked down to Watkins a world famous magical book store.
My friend wanted to look at crystals and such, in a separate part of Watkins. He found and showed me a DVD that was for sale. He said it was extraordinary, about sorcerers and healers in Indonesia. It looked fascinating but I didn't need a DVD.
We continued on to the shared business next door that houses the book department. We browsed for a while and then Patrick gave me a book. It was written by a student of John Chang who had been featured on the DVD setting fire to a ball of newspaper and doing other feats.
Picture
I knew it was the book I wanted to take with me.

I read it on the way to Australia and was excited by it. The fact that I would shortly be on the next island Bali was intriguing. On our flight from Australia to Bali my partner read it and then gave it to a friend who was also travelling with us.
My partner voiced that it was a pity that like Don Juan John Chang was dead. I replied "au contraire, he is alive and lives somewhere on Java. We all decided to set our intent to meet him.

We hired a car and drove across

Bali to Java, visiting power places and doing ritual movement and practice to open ourselves to realising this possibility of meeting John Chang.
Although we didn't have his real name or his location three weeks later after a powerful journey, we found ourselves in his front room.
It was hot and humid. He was dressed in shorts and white t-shirt. He was very welcoming, yet with his sparkling eyes  and mischievous grin he said "you are here because you are welcome, many attempt to find me, they can't and never will. You though are three days late".
At my exclamation he began to recount our journey, then said "where are you staying?"
I marvelled at his knowledge of our journey and answered with the hotel name. "Did you ask for me there?"

"No" I answered.

"He is my friend, you didn't ask, so you are three days late." He laughed and wagged his finger.
The details of the extraordinary journey to find him and my interactions with this being who has mastered power were always sublime. They form a chapter in a book I am writing and intend to publish.
Since this time I have shared the technique and practice of recapitulation with private clients and attendees at my workshops and retreats. Everyone benefits from their recapitulation.
We hold ceremonies and workshops in London weekly. If you would like to be conscious of those opportunities that come your way, your heart path, I invite you to join our events in West London.
Make a dynamic decision not to vacillate, but dive into sorcery and emerge a new being.

RECAPITULATION - THE PRACTICAL TOOL FOR SOUL RETRIEVAL

6/28/2015

Picture
"The world is like it is because you tell yourself it is like that." Carlos Castaneda

"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated." - Confucius

"Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are. When you realise there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you." - Lao Tzu.

Would you like to be simple and have the whole world belong to you? Is there a possibility of revamping your life, so you take it breath by breath with equanimity?
We all have times when we are deeply relaxed and in harmony with ourselves and our environment. Beauty or something we enjoy or aspire to catches our attention. Maybe an incredible sunset, walking in nature, or a child chuckling.

So much of the time though we are lost to the realities of our situation. Our attention is taken by confusion, regret, or unfulfilled day-dreams. Rather than rejoicing in the way things are, we project a world that we are never happy in. Then this world claims all our attention and we become a puppet of our unexplored tendencies.
We all know that worrying solves nothing. It is not a worthwhile use of imagination and embroils us in a self-sustaining nightmare of our own making. Life is too mysterious and intense and we hide in patterns of thought supported by our emotions and our postures of breath and body.

Rarely though, do we realise that life is passing us by. Why should any of us accept living in a way that doesn't suit us?

Our mystery schools and religions all have as part of their teachings sitting and walking practices where we engage in silence. Silence brings its own reward. Yet so many people say "I can't be silent".

In silence practice, in meditation or contemplation we actually get to see the workings of the mind. Often it seems horrendous. We see very clearly that our life is of our own making fuelled by our thoughts and emotions over which we have no control.

This ability to be in the moment detached from the play of our life in silence is a hard won skill. It is a question of commanding our attention.
Unfortunately our attention is on being distracted, on talking to ourselves. As we approach a state of alignment with other facets of our being, then we see our self-sabotaging dialogues that create our experience of life.

This inability to connect beyond the scope of our dialogues has been addressed in many cultures. We have the idea of forgiveness, of letting go. Soul-retrieval, the same as recapitulation, is based on the idea that aspects of our energy are lost to us and can be reclaimed.
Picture

The energy we need to live an authentic and vital life is already invested in our hurts and confusions, it needs unearthing and redeploying. Incidents, especially from our childhood, and our reaction to them, have configured us in a certain way.

The process of seeing where our energy is invested, considering whether the investment is viable for us still and withdrawing it, to apply to what is current for us, is called recapitulation. The practice was introduced to us by Carlos Castaneda. Yet it is seen in many forms cross-culturally under many names.

Toltec seers realised that our life depends on the free flow of energy. They faced the same dilemma as we do and solved it.
They discovered techniques to free up energy and make it available. This in turn changed their perception of being alive and the way they lived their lives. For them breath was and is a magical activity. Deeply immersing themselves in the free flow of breath and reviewing the incidents of their life, they were able to bring a new perspective.

This process allowed forgiveness of themselves and those they had come in contact with. They were able to discover caches of energy locked by their reactions and reclaim it. This is a pragmatic way of soul retrieval; it leads to expanded awareness, acceptance and self-love.
It freed perception and allowed them to approach the wonder of being alive in the moment. It allowed them to live their life with detachment, independence and passion.

Picture
These techniques have been taught to Ena and Gammadian. For over a decade we have entered into this process and benefited from it. It has moved us to the extent that we have chosen to make it available to others. We are registered teachers of this knowledge through Being Energy®.

On October 1st in Rishikesh, India, we will be entering into a week-long retreat. By the use of sacred shamanic movement, dreaming, recapitulation (soul retrieval) and silence practices, attendees will attain a completely new perspective on their life and be led to enact new strategies to live the life of their choice.

This process is deeply pragmatic. All lives benefit from review and self-observation. If you would live life authentically expressing your life force, do consider what is on offer here.

It is possible for you to reclaim the energy you were born with and use it consciously to re-dream your life. Exercise choice; invest in yourself while the opportunity is here.

On our website are several blogs about my experiences of recapitulation and dreaming and the links to enrol in our events.

Our nightmares or day-mares of being inadequate, stressed and often achy or ill can be alleviated with conscious intent. Life is too precious and short to spend it in a way that doesn't suit us. Be healthy, be joyful and dance to your own rhythm. You are unique - come find and understand your uniqueness and express it to your heart's content in your new life.

Affection,

Gammadian

GAMMADIAN'S STORY OF RECAPITULATION

4/22/2015

I like to share a story with you about recapitulation and dreaming. After meeting and becoming the Energy Body, I began to take a pivotal role in the Castaneda community, putting on workshops with the apprentices of Carlos Castaneda and other bodies and my own workshops all over the world on various topics to do with Toltec Knowledge. Of these the recapitulation retreats became my favourite because of an incredible experience I had.
A large amount of my time was devoted both to Sorcery Passes, Stalking and Dreaming. Still though in my stalking of my childhood I was only finding acrimonious scenes. Me being beaten for what I'd done or hadn't done. I'd constantly run away all my life but at 16 left for good.

I decided to gather a weekly group and make recapitulation our endeavour. Over and over I pulled
out incidents firstly that I knew about and then many that had remained hidden to me because of my sheer childhood terror. I breathed through these as Carlos had taught. I found that I was developing a fluidity detachment and often indifference to situations that would have once riled me.
However I was still inundated by heavy experiences in my explorations. My dreaming at this time was phenomenal.

Picture
I was lucid all night and went through several of the gates until spending my time in the world of the inorganic beings where I was fascinated. I visited many other worlds and had endless adventures in time and space.

One night I had been in the world of the dead. It was like a biblical vision of purgatory or similar. People seemed crazed and lost, near zombie-like endlessly repeating useless words or actions. To my horror I found my father, I awoke him from his stupor.
He asked me what was happening, he said "I am ill, something has happened. He'd actually died in a lot of pain from a stroke.. I told him who I was and that he was dead and that he should head toward a thin band of light on the horizon above. I told him I would return.
I also went speedily towards like dawn's light. It was some kind of heaven, but I wasn't taking much notice as I wanted to find my mother. I finally came out into this beautiful serene place. My mother was lying there with her eyes closed, bathed in a luminescence.

She looked so at peace, but I was so pissed at her. I asked her why I'd had to spend so much of my childhood black and blue just because I was energetic and wild? "What made you think you had the right to beat me, often for things my sisters did?" She became awake but had no concern for my feelings.
I became highly irate and changed into a bear. I roared at her. I grabbed her from her repose and tore at her body. I ripped her apart. Yet she reformed into her peaceful repose. Many times I roared and clawed until she was no more but I couldn't destroy her.
Picture

She said to me "your concerns are no longer mine, I have made my peace with my actions. I recommend you do the same thing."

"Maybe you have no Earthly concerns but your husband who you swore undying love for is in a terrible state in a realm below. I am not sure how to bring him here." I said.

"It will be done, together we will bring him. Return to where he is and escort him I will lend assistance."
I returned willing myself to find him in that vastly unpleasant realm. My father had actually made some progress he was nearer and his zombie like state seemed to have rescinded, even more. I told him I had found his wife and that we were going there.

After some while I brought him to the realm of my mother. I was fatigued and I left them to their reunion, as the dream dissolved.

I was a little bemused at both finding my parents and to find them in realms that didn't reflect their beliefs nor mine either. Also I couldn't believe I had endlessly attacked my mother. Most of all though I was amazed that my mother had ended up in a heaven, and I had to rethink my judgements of her.

We continued with regular recapitulations, however the current had changed. There was a new lightness.

Picture
Now I started to remember all the good times we had together. The times she pulled me out of school, to spend the day on the beach, swimming, sun bathing, drinking wine or beer. The way she looked after us, always baked our bread and cakes, cut our hair, made our clothes and always sang when happy. Most of all though I was able to remember how she read to me every night and the delight she had given me in literature.
I suddenly saw how my predilections had been driven by an eclectic mix of writings, fairy tales from all over Europe, Celtic ballads and tales, classical and Sufi poets, Hiawatha about the American Indians, the Psalms of David and the words of Solomon, to mention a few.

So many fine memories long kept at bay by my hurts were released.

Instead of my recapitulation being an arduous task, I was recapitulating these incredible beings from my life that had been disguised by the roles I had hastily assigned them out of protection.

I saw the play of intents and the thread of energy that I had
followed  throughout my life and gave thanks for all the beings that
had assisted me. My world had irrevocably changed.
From this time I set my intent to encourage as many people as possible to enter into this journey of recapitulation, to discover the wonder of their life.

Since in dreaming I have made my peace with and expressed my gratitude to my parents.
I offer this to you also.
Ena, my partner, and I are putting on another Recapitulation Retreat from 1st till 7th October in Rishikesh India.

RECAPITULATION

4/12/2015

What is recapitulation? What are the benefits of practising it? Does it have any relevancy in the 21st century? These are amongst the questions we get asked when we introduce people to this practice.

Picture
The recapitulation is a technique discovered by the sorcerers of ancient Mexico, to view and relive all the experiences of their lives, to achieve two transformational and pragmatic goals.

Firstly, to become detached and light about their lives, so that they would not lose their individual awareness at death and secondly, to gain perceptual fluidity.

These men saw that at death a force that had lent awareness retrieved it and that men lost their individual awareness in the process. They also saw that this force didn't require the life force of the individual, but his life experience. In man these two had become so entwined that by default man lost both.

By the practice of the recapitulation these sorcerers were able to separate the two (life force Vs life experience) and as it were, offer to this force a facsimile of their life experience whilst retaining their life force and awareness.

The technique used was simplicity itself. A list was made of all the people in their lives and the interactions with them.
Taking the most recent of incidents, a breath is employed that fans the head from side to side. It is a smooth and gentle breath, inhaling from one shoulder to the other as the head turns, with an intent to scan the experience and recall our energy caught in the scene. Then fanning the other way with an exhalation and letting go of all the energy that was mixed in the interaction.
Breath was considered a magical element in this process that fulfilled their intent to return this force what it required.
Carlos Castaneda who introduced this technique said 27 generations had followed this technique and had been transformed at death into a spirit being. The reaction of his students was that though the rewards seemed great, this task was too laborious and unwieldy and near impossible to execute.

His reply was that if they felt they were unable to do a perfect recapitulation then they should do a shitty one. Those that attempted this practice found immediate and accumulative benefit.

An immediate realisation was the repetitive habitual way they lived their lives that robbed them of the immediacy it had once had, giving them a new-found zest for life. The recapitulation opened a pragmatic way of thinking and a more strategic approach to living life. Old habits disappeared and seemed irrelevant.
Picture

Energy levels increased and chronic patterns of thought that resulted in mental and physical ailments and pain, gave way to increased health. New perspectives and possibilities opened up. Many practitioners started new courses of study, work and hobbies.
Ena and Gammadian have used this practice to great effect in their lives. The retreat will go deeper into all the mechanics of the practice.
Ena and Gammadian will guide you in simple movement sequences to gather energy for the recapitulation and then take you step by step through the process of reclaiming your energy from your life experiences.
Modern students of this practice have worked out efficient and effective ways of tackling this process. These techniques will be available to you.
We will engage with those aspects of your life that are relevant to you and your concerns, family, relationships, work and prosperity etc.

All attendees will be individually tutored in a flexible program to deal with specific issues and be assigned individual movements conducive to their development.

Picture
A week's retreat will not only restore your vitality and well-being but will give you simple practices to use in your daily life. Towards the end of the retreat we will look at ways of applying your new-found energy and perspective, allowing you to find specific steps to re-dream and redirect your life.

Each day we will enter into meditative silence together. We have found that throughout the week even novices at meditation are able to easily relax into a deep harmony with themselves.

Wouldn't you love to step out of your life for a week and return to it empowered with energy and pragmatic tools to navigate your life and live it how you'd like to?
Even a partial review of your life will show you a bigger picture, help you let go and both immerse yourself in the now and look forward with a clearer vision.
For me in these retreats I find freshness, verve, a new commitment and focus to those aspects of my life I would love to expand and enhance.
Long standing perceived obstacles seem to melt away and give me the freedom to act. I become less careless and more carefree about my life.
We invite you to share in this retreat and deepen your experience of who you are and how you want to live.

Rishikesh is a beautiful place, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas beside the river Ganges. It is highly conducive to this kind of activity and has supported it for millennia.

“To seek freedom is the only driving force I know. Freedom to fly off into that infinity out there. Freedom to dissolve; to lift off; to be like the flame of a candle, which, in spite of being up against the light of a billion stars, remains intact, because it never pretended to be more than what it is: a mere candle.”
                               Carlos Castaneda
