Wisdom From Within

RECAPITULATION - THE PRACTICAL TOOL FOR SOUL RETRIEVAL

6/28/2015

"The world is like it is because you tell yourself it is like that." Carlos Castaneda

"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated." - Confucius

"Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are. When you realise there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you." - Lao Tzu.

Would you like to be simple and have the whole world belong to you? Is there a possibility of revamping your life, so you take it breath by breath with equanimity?
We all have times when we are deeply relaxed and in harmony with ourselves and our environment. Beauty or something we enjoy or aspire to catches our attention. Maybe an incredible sunset, walking in nature, or a child chuckling.

So much of the time though we are lost to the realities of our situation. Our attention is taken by confusion, regret, or unfulfilled day-dreams. Rather than rejoicing in the way things are, we project a world that we are never happy in. Then this world claims all our attention and we become a puppet of our unexplored tendencies.
We all know that worrying solves nothing. It is not a worthwhile use of imagination and embroils us in a self-sustaining nightmare of our own making. Life is too mysterious and intense and we hide in patterns of thought supported by our emotions and our postures of breath and body.

Rarely though, do we realise that life is passing us by. Why should any of us accept living in a way that doesn't suit us?

Our mystery schools and religions all have as part of their teachings sitting and walking practices where we engage in silence. Silence brings its own reward. Yet so many people say "I can't be silent".

In silence practice, in meditation or contemplation we actually get to see the workings of the mind. Often it seems horrendous. We see very clearly that our life is of our own making fuelled by our thoughts and emotions over which we have no control.

This ability to be in the moment detached from the play of our life in silence is a hard won skill. It is a question of commanding our attention.
Unfortunately our attention is on being distracted, on talking to ourselves. As we approach a state of alignment with other facets of our being, then we see our self-sabotaging dialogues that create our experience of life.

This inability to connect beyond the scope of our dialogues has been addressed in many cultures. We have the idea of forgiveness, of letting go. Soul-retrieval, the same as recapitulation, is based on the idea that aspects of our energy are lost to us and can be reclaimed.

The energy we need to live an authentic and vital life is already invested in our hurts and confusions, it needs unearthing and redeploying. Incidents, especially from our childhood, and our reaction to them, have configured us in a certain way.

The process of seeing where our energy is invested, considering whether the investment is viable for us still and withdrawing it, to apply to what is current for us, is called recapitulation. The practice was introduced to us by Carlos Castaneda. Yet it is seen in many forms cross-culturally under many names.

Toltec seers realised that our life depends on the free flow of energy. They faced the same dilemma as we do and solved it.
They discovered techniques to free up energy and make it available. This in turn changed their perception of being alive and the way they lived their lives. For them breath was and is a magical activity. Deeply immersing themselves in the free flow of breath and reviewing the incidents of their life, they were able to bring a new perspective.

This process allowed forgiveness of themselves and those they had come in contact with. They were able to discover caches of energy locked by their reactions and reclaim it. This is a pragmatic way of soul retrieval; it leads to expanded awareness, acceptance and self-love.
It freed perception and allowed them to approach the wonder of being alive in the moment. It allowed them to live their life with detachment, independence and passion.

These techniques have been taught to Ena and Gammadian. For over a decade we have entered into this process and benefited from it. It has moved us to the extent that we have chosen to make it available to others. We are registered teachers of this knowledge through Being Energy®.

On October 1st in Rishikesh, India, we will be entering into a week-long retreat. By the use of sacred shamanic movement, dreaming, recapitulation (soul retrieval) and silence practices, attendees will attain a completely new perspective on their life and be led to enact new strategies to live the life of their choice.

This process is deeply pragmatic. All lives benefit from review and self-observation. If you would live life authentically expressing your life force, do consider what is on offer here.

It is possible for you to reclaim the energy you were born with and use it consciously to re-dream your life. Exercise choice; invest in yourself while the opportunity is here.

On our website are several blogs about my experiences of recapitulation and dreaming and the links to enrol in our events.

Our nightmares or day-mares of being inadequate, stressed and often achy or ill can be alleviated with conscious intent. Life is too precious and short to spend it in a way that doesn't suit us. Be healthy, be joyful and dance to your own rhythm. You are unique - come find and understand your uniqueness and express it to your heart's content in your new life.

Affection,

Gammadian

I first read about RECAPITULATION from a LOBSANG RAMPA book, where he told of his apprenticeship.

He said that he had had to seal himself in a cell, with nothing but a knob of Yak butter and a bowl of tea each day, in the dark.

He Recapitulated by progressively recollecting the events of each day, until he had TOTAL RECALLED his entire life.

No way was I doing THAT!

I couldn't do DIANETICS, because, in twenty years, I couldn't find a partner to co-audit.

KONCHOCK PENDAY, with his UNIVERSAL CLEARING PROCESS said that recapitulating PAIN wasn't necessary. I didn't trust that.
