Valentines Day of course brings up visions of love, particularly romantic love in our minds. Yet LOVE is so much more and amore only one facet of it. Love is not only an emotion but a fundamental vibration in the multiverse that we can resonate with. Love is associated with the heart. You hear about the heart a lot these days. What is the heart we speak of? A muscle that pumps blood round the body? A chakra full of love and kindness?
Well yes, it can be described in both these ways. Yet this is an incomplete description. How many relationships break down? How many times have either we upset loved ones, or they us? The heart is an intelligence, that is at our disposal, probably greater than that other centre, the brain, that is mostly associated with intelligence. Both of these centres are in communication with each other. The heart is our centre of passion, whatever we are really passionate about, that will be the nature of our heart. What are we passionate about? If we want to know what is in our heart, then see what we say. How many times do we put our foot in it when we open our mouths. Although we would probably all love to have a vibrant harmonious relationship with someone of the other gender, often our romantic liaisons, are anything but after a little while. If we can’t live with the one we love in harmony, what does this say about the other relationships in our life?
So, what do we do? Is the situation irredeemable? No. It just needs an honest appraisal and relevant strategy. The essence of a good loving relationship with another, is to love ourselves. If you ask someone “do you love yourself” the answer will come back something akin to “of course I do.” Yet we can go a little deeper. When was the last time you were truly kind to yourself? Are you like a guardian with yourself or more akin to a despot? If you are a despot to yourself, how do you think you are perceived by others? Love is spoken of in all mystical traditions. When we truly stop, maybe we see a baby laughing, or a glorious sunset, we breathe for a moment, we smile, and what arises? Joy, love, appreciation, we feel good, expansive. When we feel expansive we act expansively, naturally, generously.
If we want to truly love, to feel and act expansively, not just in these moments but all the time, it is very possible. Open Wing has gathered together practices, that build energy and intend both consciousness and detachment, so that we can examine our own bodies, our thoughts, our emotions and feelings and come home to the natural loving state that is our crowning achievement. Whether we are teaching yogic or shamanic movement, nutrition, personal investigation, meditation or treating our clients with one of our range of treatments, the intent is the same, to bring a person back to loving and enjoying themselves.
That intent to bring clients to an authentic experience of themselves and give them the power to navigate from where they are, to where they would like to be. a place of vitality, harmony and well-being, is our joy. You can see it in the face, in the smile, in the light in the eyes. We shine, we love and accept ourselves. When we love and accept ourselves, we learn to love and accept others. We learn to laugh at what once would have driven us to distraction. When we are truly in love with ourselves, when we have balanced our femininity and masculinity, then naturally we attract a partner that is attracted to us and willing to grow with us in harmony and love.
